Energy Council
The BENS Energy Council is open to BENS members with experience and interest in addressing key energy issues facing the U.S. national security community. The Council serves as a research and development platform, offering educational opportunities, incubating energy-related efforts, and engaging subject matter expertise among relevant stakeholders. The Council currently is evaluating state-level efforts to secure the U.S. electric grid from threats including those from man-made, cyber, electromagnetic disturbance, and other sources, primarily through public-private partnerships. The Council will produce a report identifying state-level approaches that contribute to grid resilience, and, that, practiced more consistently across the country, would lead to a more resilient national grid.
